Government House Scarecrow Project

On Thursday the 23rd of November the School Gardening Group at Bendigo Special Developmental School together with students from Kalianna School visited Government House in Melbourne, by invitation of the Victorian Governor, Her Excellency the Hon Linda Dessau AC.

Students each received their own personal invitation from the Governor and brought and assembled Boris the Scarecrow to live in the Peace and Prosperity Garden at Government House. He is also keeping company with a scarecrow made by students from Kalianna School.  

All students enjoyed a wonderful day which included refreshments and photos with the Governor and her husband Mr Anthony Howard QC followed by a tour of Government House.  

All students were made to feel extremely welcome by all the staff and officials at Government House. Special thanks to Erin Hollis at Government House for organising the scarecrow program which will continue in 2018
